CASE Christmas appeal
CASE has teamed up local social enterprise Tomorrow Together to collect food in support of a new food bank set up by the Zinthiya Trust.
Last year we collected nearly 500 items of food for a local food bank which were made up into hampers and distributed to local families in need over Christmas.
We were aiming for 10 hampers but thanks to the generosity of friends, family, colleagues and our fellow co-operators we were able to donate 40!
This year we have raised the bar and challenged ourselves to collect one thousand items for the food hampers and we can’t possibly do it without your help!
Why are we doing this?
In Leicester there are 26,000 children living in poverty. 21% of households in Leicester are in fuel poverty and faced with the daily question of whether to heat or eat.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy, zero income due to a delay in benefits or because they have started a new job and have yet to be paid.
The rising cost of food and fuel, static income and changes to the benefit system means that more and more families are suffering from hardship.
How you can help
Help us to collect non-perishable food items such as those on our shopping list below.
We will also be pleased to receive donations of gift wrap Please bring your donations to the CASE office at 1 The Crescent, First Floor, King Street, Leicester, LE1 6RX.
You can drop your items off between 9:30am – 5:30 pm Monday to Friday. We are happy to collect larger amounts – just let us know.
