CASE recently celebrated Co-operatives Fortnight by holding an open day and ribbon cutting event to formally open their new offices within The Crescent, the beautiful grade two listed building in the centre of Leicester that the agency has recently moved into.
Dorothy Francis, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to officially throw open our doors. This move sparks a big change for CASE as we now have the facilities to provide training in-house, using the two training rooms contained with our office suite. This space will also strengthen CASE’s ties with community groups through providing a venue to hold meetings and training events. This is a special year in general as we celebrate 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives and in specific for CASE as we celebrate our 30th anniversary of providing services for co-operatives in Leicestershire. Being able to work from such vibrant and interesting premises is just the icing on the cake.”
Dorothy added; “We have the exciting opportunity to provide a platform for co-operatives wishing to display their work through exhibitions and envisage that our offices will also function as a showcase for co-operative services and products”.
Co-operatives Fortnight is the national campaign to raise awareness of financial and community contribution of co-operatives to the UK economy and CASE was delighted to celebrate the opening of the new offices as part of the events that are taking place across the UK. Members of local co-operatives were given tours of the premises and their views were sought on how the premises can be best utilised. They were also treated to a preview of the events planned for CASE’s 30th birthday in September when the Agency will celebrate three decades of working to grow and develop co-operative and social enterprise businesses within Leicestershire and further afield.
The 30th birthday celebration will take place on the evening of Wednesday 26th September at the New Walk Museum, Leicester. If you would like to attend or would like further information please contact Nade Townsend on 0116 222 5010 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
