Soft Touch Arts have receieved an award in honour of their contribution to their local community.
Last night, the co-operative were awarded the Judges Special Prize from the Leicestershire First Awards, in recognition of the Mash Up project, which has currently worked with 819 disadvantaged young people.
The Mash Up project invited local youths to get involved in music and arts project, with the local police noticing a reduction in crime levels during the time that the project was occuring.
Sally Norman, one of the directors at Soft Touch, said: “It was a very nice acknowledgement.”
